Meet Cory

"Yes, if you want to say that I was a drum major, say
that I was a drum major for justice..."
Martin Luther King, Jr.
"The Drum Major Instinct" Sermon
February 4, 1968

Determined. Focused. Responsive. Cory J. Lynch is not your average attorney. There is no denying his solid educational background and his proven leadership, but what is more distinctive is his unwavering stance on justice and an innate compassion & vision for the growth and development of others.

DETERMINED

Cory is a testament to the adage, It takes a village to raise a child. "My family, neighbors, teachers, and business leaders helped shape my desire for working together for a common goal of getting permanent, effective results; not just placating a quick fix."

Benjamin E. Mays High School helped Cory exercise moral excellence, to embrace teamwork, and to plan, prepare & execute that vision. "Each day that I entered the school, I distinctly observed one of Dr. Mays' famous quotes which states, 'Not failure, but low aim is sin.' That helped me realize that the things that God has given me are not just for me. It is my responsibility to roll up my sleeves and work with others to help build a firm foundation to impact future generations.

FOCUSED

Having graduated magna cum laude from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and a Master of Applied Social Sciences in Public Administration. Cory actively served in leadership roles in Florida A & M University's Student Government and as a Drum Major of the Marching Band.

Cory pursued a legal career at Howard University School of Law. While working as an intern for the Fulton County District Attorney's Office he conducted legal research and gained invaluable experience in trial preparation. His time there furthered his desire to serve as an advocate for the interests of the community.

Cory's commitment to listening, studying, and taking action is evident in his service to pursue justice on behalf of injured victims and their families as an experienced attorney for Atlanta's Mabra Firm. Prior to joining the Mabra Firm, Cory represented the City of Atlanta as a Prosecutor with a 90% success rate. Cory has developed a reputation as a strong litigator, fervently arguing cases in the interest of justice.

RESPONSIVE

The time is now for our communities to get back to basics; to get to the root of successes and challenges. In essence, it's time to move forward with a purpose. "Throughout our neighborhoods we see a lot of things that could be done, should be done, but do not get done. This is a new season for a clear perspective; a season for District 35 to establish Communities that Thrive."

Cory considers it a privilege that he understands the law and how decisions can positively or negatively affect those within our communities. His day-to-day dealings with Georgia law from the ground level up, positions him for action.

Cory helps equip children and youth to learn to think for themselves, to stand up for what is right, and to consider the consequences of their life choices. Cory serves as a speaker for area schools, academies, and colleges including Benjamin E. Mays High School (Atlanta), Liberty Point Elementary School (Union City) The Best Academy at Benjamin E. Carson (Atlanta), Spelman College's Partnership for Awareness of Law and Safety (PALS).

Away from the office, Cory enjoys the peace that comes from serving as musician at Atlanta's Impact Church. Through evidence of his faith, strong set of ethics, knowledge of the law, and service to others, Cory has been acknowledged by his peers for his humility and follow-through as an effective leader.
